We help families stay connected with loved ones in critical care.
OUR MISSIONS & PURPOSE
LIVING
Ensure basic, human needs are available.
Families of loved ones in critical care often face the additional financial burden of having access to food, shelter, and transportation, as they may not be living close to the hospital, having traveled from across the state. Our network of doctors and nurses provides a direct line between the endowment and those in need. Whether it’s offering gift cards for food, covering hotel charges, or flying family members to the bedside of the patient, the Tom Bajo Endowment builds the bridge between patients and their loved ones.
EMPOWERING
Give family members more time together.
Research has proven that when a patient has their family for support, it can significantly impact their recovery and reduce their length of stay in the ICU. However, those without financial means usually will not be able to stay with the patient and provide this support system. The Tom Bajo Endowment provide can those resources for families to have the opportunity to be present with their loved ones during their recovery.
ACTING
Doctors and nurses leading our cause.
The Tom Bajo Endowment leadership team is made up of many of the same individuals providing the care directly to the patients doctors and nurses in the ICU. This keeps our efforts streamlined, but more importantly, it provides that direct connection between the patients and families and their need for assistance. Having an unfiltered view and the power to make decisions quickly gives our endowment an incredible opportunity to make a difference.
You make the difference between surviving and thriving.
Medical emergencies affect more than the critical care patient. Help keep families connected by enabling them to stay with loved ones.
Strengthen our philanthropy through partnership.
We can go further, together. Becoming a TBE Partner ensures your efforts and capabilities bring families closer when they need aid most.
CONTINUING TOM’S LEGACY
Saving lives, the ‘Tom Bajo’ way.
It all leads back to Dr. Tom Bajo, and the enormous heart he reserved for his patients and their families. If a patient’s loved ones couldn’t afford dinner, he would pick up the tab. If they had no place to stay, he would book their hotel. If they were out of state, he would buy their plane ticket. Nothing stood in Tom’s way when making sure those relationships and connections were part of his responsibilities as a doctor.
The Tom Bajo Endowment looks to continue enabling and strengthening those relationships between patients in the Intensive Care Unit and the most important people in their lives. We believe this to be a vital part of patient care and the road to recovery, just as Tom did.
